Wilma Winona Mathis

W. Winona Cherry-Mathis, age 74, went home to be with the Lord, March 8, 2014. She was a member of Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from General Motors in 1991. Winona was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Ware, Sr. and Bush’e and Leona Ware Swan. She is survived by husband, David Mathis; sons, Samuel A. (Dorothea) Cherry, Sr. and Tyrone A. (Juanita) Cherry Sr.; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Myron Ware, father of children, Samuel A. Cherry, extended family members and a host of other relatives and special friends.
