Wilson Groves was born on August 25, 1950 to the late Fred Groves Jr. and Dora Groves who resides in Greenville, MS. He dedicated his life to his Savior Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. Wilson received his education from the public schools in Greenville, MS. Upon graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1972. After serving his tour of duty, he was gainfully employed until his health failed. He was a brave “soldier”. Wilson enjoyed reading and talking about history (world, American, cultural) and geography, which he loved dearly. He loved discussions with his two grand daughters. He also enjoyed the outdoors, recreational parks, walk paths, and talking about and eating ethnic foods. Wilson departed this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 6:55 p.m. after a lengthy illness. Wilson leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and very devoted wife, Jacqueline; two sons, Kwesi (Cassie) Groves, Pickerington, OH and Kema Groves, Columbus, OH; daughter, Baraka (Del) Wylie, Columbus, OH; adopted son, Rodney (Shemetrie) Pollard, Columbus, OH; mother, Dora Groves, Greenville, MS; six sisters, Freddia Whitney, Baltimore, MD, Georgia Groves, Greenville, MS, Norma Groves, Greenville, MS, Annette Newsome, Baltimore, MD, Lonzetta (Lee) Cleveland, Clarksville, TN, Blonzetta (Russell) Wiley, Baltimore, MD; brother, Bennette (Barbara) Groves, Greenville, MS; grand daughters, Gabrielle Groves, Pickerington, OH , Kwesha Wylie, Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
