Wilson Thomas Walker

Wilson Thomas Walker was born December 20, 1940, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. Known in the ‘biology and chemistry world’ as “Mr. Sherlock Holmes in a Lab Coat,” he was the owner and operator of Wilson’s Environmental Laboratory, Incorporated, in Westerville, Ohio, until his cerebrovascular accident in 2001. The lab was then moved to Dayton, Ohio by his son, who assumed ownership along with Wilson's wife. A humanitarian at heart, Wilson's heartfelt compassion for his fellow citizens was demonstrated in his relentless service to people of all ethnicities and ages. In his spare time, he also volunteered with the Boys Club of Columbus, Ohio, inculcating life values and skills into the next generation. Wilson served as past president and active member of the Rotary Club of Columbus, Ohio. He also served on the board of COSI (Center of Science and Industry) and Ohio Dominican University. For eighteen years, Wilson and his wife have been active members of Vineyard Church, in Columbus, Ohio, where they served and expressed their love for their Savior Jesus Christ. On Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the age of 76, Wilson passed away while at the Heartland of Westerville Residential Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westerville, Ohio. His parents, Ernest Walker and Eloise (Young) Walker Saunders, preceded him in death. Those who remain to cherish memories of Wilson include his loving wife of 53 years, Janice Sheri Walker; son Brian Walker of Valley Village, California; sisters, Myrna Mourning and Donna Knight; brother Ernest , (Rita) Walker; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Barry (Janice) Stewart, Harley (Iva Jean) Stewart, Darrell Stewart, and Keith (Suzanne) Stewart; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
